Abstract
Educational robotics have become an integral part of STEM education. Robotics competitions are complementary to relevant courses and they have been gaining popularity worldwide. Some common challenges in such events are reviewed using the paradigm of Robotex competition in order to exemplify the concepts and highlight their educational value.
