Abstract: The design issues related to the optical microring filters based on deeply etched GaInAsP-InP waveguides were discussed. The modal solutions for a wide range of z independent practical optical waveguides were found. The characterization and optimization of design issues like coupling, field evolution and power and phase considerations were also considered.
