Abstract:	The paper highlights the increasing role of robotics competitions in STEM education and is supported by information pertinent to “Robotex Cyprus 2019”, an annual robotics competition. Relevant data were collected through a questionnaire reflecting the views of participants (n=474) with respect to their engagement and satisfaction during the preparation stage of the competition. Wider issues regarding robotics competitions and STEM education have emerged and are discussed together with reflections drawn from the experiences of the organizers.
