Στις δύο δεκαετίας μεταξύ του 1890 και 1910, η Βιέννη υπήρξε ο χώρος μιας πλουραλιστικής άνθισης των τεχνών και των επιστημών. Η εργασία εξετάζει τους σημαντικότερους εκπροσώπους και φορείς του Μοντερνισμού. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, αναλύονται λογοτεχνικά έργα των Hermann Bahr, Arthur Schnitzler, Ηugo von Hofmannstthal και Peter Altenberg, ενώ παράλληλα εξετάζονται οι βασικές αρχές της ψυχανάλυσης του Sigmund Freud. Όσον αφορά στη μουσική, διερευνώνται οι δρόμοι των Gustav Mahler και Arnold Schoenberg. Όσον αφορά στις εικαστικές τέχνες αναλύεται η διαμορφωτική επιρροή της Secession και της Wiener Werkstätte, όπως επίσης μερικά από τα σημαντικότερα έργα των ζωγράφων Gustav Κlimt και Egon Schiele, από αισθητική και εννοιολογική σκοπιά. | Description: | The thesis studies the Modernism in Vienna at the turn from the 19th century to 20th (fin-de-siècle). In the two decades between 1890 and 1910, Vienna was the site of a pluralistic flourish of arts and sciences. The thesis examines the most important representatives and institutions of Modernism. More specifically, it looks at literary works by Hermann Bahr, Arthur Schnitzler, Hugo von Hofmannstthal and Peter Altenberg, while examining the basic principles of Sigmund Freud’s psychoanalysis. The musical paths of Gustav Mahler and Arnold Schoenberg are also explored.
