Abstract
Introduction: The diseases of the heart and blood vessels are nowadays the leading cause of death, at least in developed countries. Today everyone agrees that better treatment of coronary heart disease is prevention through understanding of the role and physical control, of predisposing factors, these characteristics that their presence heralds the appearance and progression.
Purpose: To investigate the role of nurses in informing and educating adults with coronary heart disease.
Material and Methods: A systematic review study. The search from Greek and international literature was specific database (Pubmed, Medline, Google Scholar). The articles selected should be dealt with adult patients with coronary disease who accept additional education. Also to increase the validity of the survey preferred randomized clinical trials.
Results: education of patients with coronary artery disease plays an important role in reducing risk factors for coronary heart disease and improves quality of life of these patients.
Conclusion: The implementation of a nursing education program in patients with coronary artery disease is useful and important for improving the quality of care provided to patients. Today, the use of technology becomes more feasible to implement a training program by nurses, without a huge pressure on themselves and their patients. The education of patients has the first reason in the prevention of coronary heart disease risk factors and therefore should not be ignored by the health system of any country.
