Yiannis Christidis (CY) Μiracolo, 2024 Four-channel sound installation, loop The sound installation Miracolo explores the evolving relationship between humanity and technology, focusing on its alluring power over individuals. The sounds produced by small, low-resolution speakers are subtle and discreet but also blurred and indistinct. This technique mirrors granular synthesis, where sound is deconstructed into small, isolated 'grains,' much like the crystalline texture of sugar. In this context, sugar serves as a symbol, representing temptation and sweetness while also alluding to the dangers of excess. As a result, the sound becomes uncertain, anonymous, and undefined. The work serves as a reminder of technology's constant unseen influence, reminiscent of a Trojan Horse: captivating and familiar, yet capable o shaping our perceptions, manipulating our opinions, and obscuring the lines between the real and the artificial, as well as the known and the unknown.en_US
