Συγκεκριμένα, η εργασία αφορά στο πώς η φοιτητική κοινότητα προσλαμβάνει το έγκλημα και την/τον εγκληματία σύμφωνα με τις διαστάσεις “ζημιά”, “ανηθικότητα” και “σοβαρότητα”. Διερευνά τις προσλήψεις των φοιτητριών και φοιτητών σχετικά με τη διάπραξη διάφορων εγκλημάτων και συμπεριφορών που αφορούν σε αυτοδικία, εγκλήματα με θύματα γυναίκες και ρητορική μίσους. Η πρόσληψη περί ζημιάς που προκαλεί ένα έγκλημα και η πρόσληψη περί ανηθικότητας που το διέπει είναι κύριοι παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν την πρόσληψη περί σοβαρότητάς του. Σκοπός είναι και η διερεύνηση της οπτικής των ατόμων που συμμετείχαν στην έρευνα ως προς το αν υπάρχουν “ελαφρυντικά” σε κάποιου είδους εγκλήματα ή αν ένας άνθρωπος που διέπραξε ένα έγκλημα παραμένει εγκληματίας, όποιοι παράγοντες και να τον οδήγησαν στη διάπραξή του. Τα κυριότερα ευρήματα είναι ότι σε μερικές περιπτώσεις εγκλημάτων τα άτομα που συμμετείχαν στην έρευνα συμφωνούν, ή έστω αποδέχονται, κάποια εγκλήματα αυτοδικίας, ενώ καταδικάζουν τα εγκλήματα βιασμού και γυναικοκτονίας θεωρώντας τα απόλυτα επιβλαβή, ανήθικα και σοβαρά. Επίσης, βρίσκουν γενικά μέτρια σοβαρό το έγκλημα της ρητορικής μίσους. Επαληθεύεται όμως και η άποψη ότι το έγκλημα είναι έγκλημα όποιος/α και αν το διέπραξε. Ένας άλλος στόχος της έρευνας ήταν η επαλήθευση ή κατάρριψη της άποψης ότι “όλοι είμαστε εν δυνάμει δολοφόνοι”. Στον βαθμό που κάτι τέτοιο μπορεί να διερευνηθεί με μικρό αριθμό συνεντεύξεων βάθους, η άποψη αυτή εν τέλει επαληθεύτηκε. | Description: | The topic of this thesis is crime severity perceptions. Specifically, the work concerns how the student community perceives crime and the criminal according to the dimensions "Harmfulness", "Wrongfulness" and "Seriousness". It investigates female and male university students' perceptions of the commission of various crimes and behaviors involving vigilantism violence, crimes with female victims and hate speech. The perception of harm that a crime causes and the perception of wrongfulness underlying it, are major factors influencing the perception of its seriousness. The aim is also to investigate the perspective of the people who participated in the research as to whether there are extenuating circumstances in any kind of crime or whether a person who committed a crime remains a criminal, whatever the factors that led him to commit it. The main findings are that in some cases of crime the people who participated in the research agree, or even accept, some crimes of vigilantism while they condemn the crimes of rape and femicide as absolutely harmful, wrongful and serious. They also generally find the crime of hate speech moderately serious. However, the opinion that a crime is a crime no matter who committed it, is also verified. Another aim of the research was to verify or disprove the view that "we are all potential killers".
