Αρχικά, στο πρώτο κεφάλαιο καθορίζονται οι όροι κλίμα και καιρός και γίνεται σύντομη αναφορά για το κλίμα στο νησί μας. Το επόμενο κεφάλαιο επικεντρώνεται στη κλιματική αλλαγή, στις αιτίες που την προκαλούν και στις επιπτώσεις που επέρχονται σε διάφορες πτυχές της καθημερινότητάς μας. Εν συνεχεία υπάρχουν αναφορές για το πως επηρεάζεται και θα επηρεαστεί η Ευρώπη λόγω των κλιματικών αλλαγών. Επιπλέον υπάρχουν διαγράμματα μερικών Ευρωπαϊκών χωρών που παρουσιάζουν δεδομένα μεταβολής του κλίματος. Στην τελική φάση του τρίτου κεφαλαίου παραθέτονται 2 πίνακες που συγκρίνουν την μέση βροχόπτωση του νησιού μας κατά τον 20ον αιώνα και γίνεται πρόβλεψη για κάποιες από τις μελλοντικές επιπτώσεις που θα αντιμετωπίσει. Το 2ο μισό της εργασίας επικεντρώνεται στον κατασκευαστικό τομέα και συγκεκριμένα στις επιπτώσεις που επέρχονται από τις κλιματικές αλλαγές. Για αρχή καταγράφονται τρόποι που μπορεί η υγρασία και η θερμότητα να μεταφερθούν σε ένα κτήριο. Μετέπειτα, αναφέρονται διάφοροι παράγοντες που προκαλούν φθορά στα δομικά υλικά. Επιπλέον, γίνεται αναφορά στις αιτίες και επιπτώσεις της διάβρωσης ακτογραμμών στο νησί μας. Στα τελικά στάδια της εργασίας υπάρχουν βιβλιογραφικές ανασκοπήσεις από ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα και καταστροφές κτηρίων στην Κύπρο. Ακολούθως επεξηγούνται διάφοροι τρόποι σχεδιασμού κτηρίου για αποδοτική ανθεκτικότητα του σε ακραίες καταστάσεις. | Description: | This paper aims to study how climate changes and conditions, affect the construction sector. Initially, in the first chapter the terms climate and weather are defined and a brief reference is provided about our island's situation. The next chapter focuses on climate change, the causes of it, as well as the effects on various aspects of our daily lives. Then, reports show how the current situation in Europe is, and will also be affected by climate change. In addition, charts of some European countries are provided, showing climate change data. In the final phase of the third chapter, two tables are presented, that compare the average rainfall of our island during the 20th century and predictions of some of the future impacts that it will face. The 2nd half of the paper focuses on the construction sector and specifically on the impacts brought about by climate change. For a start, ways in which moisture and heat can be transferred into a building are mentioned. Then various factors that cause deterioration in building materials. In addition, the causes and effects of shoreline erosion on our island are discussed. In the final stages of the thesis, literature reviews of extreme weather events are shown about the building disasters in Cyprus.
