Major Field of Science: | Engineering and Technology | Field Category: | Electrical Engineering - Electronic Engineering - Information Engineering | Issue Date: | 2020 | Source: | Energies Special Issues, 2020 | Link: | https://www.mdpi.com/journal/energies/special_issues/Computational_Geothermal_Energy_Applications | Journal: | Energies | Description: | “Computational Geothermal Energy Applications” is the title of a Special Issue of the journal Energies that will serve as a guide for specific problems of Geothermal Energy. It will include the presentation of ideas, methods, and results related to computational fluid dynamics and heat transfer in solids, liquids, and gases, with specific geothermal applications, including heat pumps. All modes of heat and mass transfer, such as conduction, convection, diffusion, radiation, and phase change, will be specifically addressed. This Special Issue will also include discussions on thermodynamic principles, thermal properties of substances, thermal cycles, etc. The themes of shallow geothermal energy applications, deep geothermal energy, groundwater flow, underground tunnels, underground constructions, and thermal stresses are expected to be addressed. More specifically, this Special Issue will report the development of new mathematical methods and computational algorithms and the application of new or existing methods to the solution of problems in the field under study. Experimental studies in combination with numerical/computational works are expected. The assessment of the accuracy of computational solutions through verification and validation is an essential aspect to be dealt with. Review papers on relevant topics are also invited. | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14279/24332 | ISSN: | 1996-1073 | Rights: | © MDPI | Type: | Book | Affiliation : | Cyprus University of Technology | Publication Type: | Peer Reviewed |
