Οι θεματικές της ενότητες αναλύουν το πολιτικό, ιστορικό, και εκπαιδευτικό υπόβαθρο του Bauhaus και αναδεικνύουν την επιρροή του μέχρι σήμερα. Η διατριβή έχει ως στόχο, αρχικά, να αναλύσει το χρονικό ίδρυσης της σχολής του Bauhaus, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των έμμεσων και των άμεσων πρόδρομών της. Ο επόμενος στόχος της είναι να διερευνήσει το χρονικό λειτουργίας του Bauhaus, αναλύοντας τη διοίκηση και τα προγράμματα σπουδών, στο περιβάλλον ανόδου και επιβολής του Εθνικοσοσιαλισμού. Στη συνέχεια, η διατριβή στοχεύει να παρουσιάσει τη διάχυση των ιδεών της σχολής του Bauhaus σε διεθνές επίπεδο, εστιάζοντας στις πολιτικές και πολιτιστικές εξελίξεις στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Ο τελευταίος στόχος της διατριβής είναι να δείξει, μέσω της παρουσίασης της πρόσφατης πρωτοβουλίας της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής για τη δημιουργία του Νέου Ευρωπαϊκού Bauhaus, πώς οι ιδέες του Bauhaus εξακολουθούν και στον 21ο αιώνα να απασχολούν τους τομείς όχι μόνον της καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας αλλά και της διαμόρφωσης της ευρωπαϊκής ταυτότητας. | Description: | This dissertation covers a wide chronological, theoretical, historical and political spectrum that begins around the middle of the 19th century and ends in the present times. Its themes analyse the political, historical, and educational background of the Bauhaus and highlight its influence to this day. The first aim of this dissertation is to analyse the chronicle of establishment of the Bauhaus school, including its direct and indirect precursors. Its next aim is to investigate the operation of the Bauhaus, by analysing the administration and curricula, in the context of the rise and enforcement of National Socialism. This dissertation then aims to present the international dissemination of the ideas of the Bauhaus school, focusing on the political and cultural developments taking place in the United States.
