The study involved a phenomenological approach undertaken through initiating conversations with visitors, participant observation and reviewing narratives on visitor books kept in monasteries. From the analysis five core elements of authentic experience emerged, namely spiritual; cultural; environmental; secular; and educational. These elements were discussed in relation to the methodology adopted and the findings of past research | URI: | https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14279/1973 | ISSN: | 01607383 | DOI: | 10.1016/j.annals.2008.10.003 | Rights: | © Elsevier | Type: | Article | Affiliation: | Cyprus University of Technology | Affiliation : | Nottingham Trent University | Publication Type: | Peer Reviewed |
