| dc.description | For the professional graphic designers in Cyprus, creativity is considered to be a subjective, and original approach to the understanding of different topics and it is associated with an innovative, authentic and imaginative way of combining existing ideas. This research piece found 8 factors of influencing creativity, which were related to children painting and illustration. These factors were prioritised according to the degree of importance, as follows: imagination, colour, symbolism, creative thinking, balanced combination of picture and text, idiosyncratic human figures, composition and painting topics and creative environment. Imagination was found to be a necessary, but not a sufficient condition, for the development of creativity and colour and creative thinking were directly linked with an original way of combining existing ideas. The balanced combination of picture and text was found to be important, only if the text may bring to light the most important dimensions of the picture. The use of individualistic human figures and the composition-painting topics factor were linked with emotional intelligence. Finally, the creative environment may only indirectly influence creativity, i.e. through cultivation of creative thinking. The research in this dissertation found 6 mechanisms of creativity development, as follows: cultivation of imagination, development of emotional intelligence, development of an innovative perception into how we look at things, development of critical thinking, continuing professional development of graphic designers and the development of a suitable working environment. Τhe above mechanisms allowed the identification of 6 policy recommendations for the graphic design sector in Cyprus, as follows: the introduction of new creative courses in primary and secondary education, the state support of the continuing professional development of the graphic designers, an organised effort to inform the public about the role of graphic design in modern society, an organised effort to inform professionals who collaborate with graphic designers about the nature and function of graphic design, the cultivation of a more extroverted culture within the Cyprus graphic design sector through the creation of an organised professional body and the organised effort to demonstrate the importance of the graphic design sector in using innovative ways of creation and communication in order to effectively solve problems. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Για τους επαγγελματίες γραφιστικής τέχνης στην Κύπρο, η δημιουργικότητα θεωρείται ένας υποκειμενικός και πρωτότυπος τρόπος προσέγγισης στην κατανόηση διαφόρων θεμάτων και συνδέεται όχι τόσο με μια ριζοσπαστική ίδεα αλλά με ένα καινοτόμο, αυθεντικό και ευφάνταστο τρόπο συνδυασμού υπάρχουσων ιδεών. Η έρευνα προσδιόρισε 8 παράγοντες επηρεασμού της δημιουργικότητας, οι οποίοι συνδέθηκαν με την παιδική εικονογράφηση και ζωγραφική. Οι παράγοντες αυτοί ιεραρχήθηκαν με βάση την σημαντικότητα τους, ως εξης: φαντασία, χρώμα, συμβολισμός, δημιουργική σκέψη, ισορροπημένος συνδυασμός εικόνας-κειμένου, ιδιότυπες ανθρώπινες φιγούρες, σύνθεση-θεματολογία και δημιουργικό περιβάλλον. Η φαντασία θεωρήθηκε ως απαραίτητη συνθήκη για την εξέλιξη της δημιουργικότητας και το χρώμα, ο συμβολισμός και η δημιουργική σκέψη συνδέθηκαν άμεσα με έναν πρωτότυπο τρόπο συνδυασμού υπάρχουσων ιδεών. Ο ισορροπημένος συνδυασμός εικόνας-κειμένου θεωρήθηκε σημαντικός μόνο αν το κείμενο είναι τέτοιο ώστε να μπορεί να αναδείξει τις πιο σημαντικές διαστάσεις της εικόνας. Η χρήση ιδιότυπων ανθρώπινων φιγούρων και η σύνθεση/θεματολογία συνδέθηκαν με την συναισθηματική νοημοσύνη. Τέλος, το δημιουργικό περιβάλλον μόνο έμμεσα μπορεί να επηρεάσει την δημιουργικότητα, δηλ. μέσα απο την καλλιέργεια της δημιουργικής σκέψης. Η έρευνα ανέδειξε 6 μηχανισμούς εξέλιξης της δημιουργικότητας, ως εξής: καλλιέργεια φαντασίας, καλλιέργεια συναισθηματικής νοημοσύνης, εξέλιξη καινοτόμας αντίληψης στα πράγματα, καλλιέργεια κριτικής αντίληψης, συνέχιση τεχνικής εκπαίδευσης και εξειδίκευσης και επιδίωξη διαμόρφωσης κατάλληλου περιβάλλοντος δημιουργίας. Oι μηχανισμοί οδήγησαν στην εξαγωγή 6 εισηγήσεων για σχεδιασμό πολιτικής για τον γραφιστικό τομέα στην Κύπρο, ως εξης: εισαγωγή μαθημάτων με δημιουργικό περιεχόμενο στην δημοτική και μέση εκπαίδευση, κρατική υποστήριξη για συνεχιζόμενη τεχνική εκπαίδευση των επαγγελματιών γραφιστικής τέχνης, οργανωμένη ενημέρωση του κοινού για τον ρόλο της γραφιστικής τέχνης στην σύγχρονη κοινωνία, οργανωμένη ενημέρωση των επαγγελματιών που συνεργάζονται με τους επαγγελματίες γραφίστες για την φύση και λειτουργία της γραφιστικής τέχνης, καλλιέργεια μιας πιο εξωστρεφής κουλτούρας στον Κυπριακό γραφιστικό τομέα μέσα απο την δημιουργία ενός οργανωμένου φορέα αντιπροσώπευσης των επαγγελματιών γραφίστων, οργανωμένη πολιτική ανάδειξης της γραφιστικής τέχνης ως ένα δημιουργικό επιστημονικό τομέα που στοχεύει στην αποτελεσματική επίλυση προβλημάτων χρησιμοποιώντας πρωτότυπους τρόπους σκέψης και επικοινωνίας. | en_US |
