Κύριος σκοπός είναι η διερεύνηση των λόγων που οδήγησαν στην ελλιπή αναγνώριση των σπουδαστριών και του διδακτικού έργου των γυναικών στο Bauhaus που οφείλονταν, κυρίως, στα κοινωνικά στερεότυπα που επικρατούσαν για τις γυναίκες στις αρχές του 20ού αιώνα αλλά και στη συνέχεια. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, θα διερευνηθεί η αντιμετώπιση των γυναικών στο Bauhaus και η συνύπαρξη των δύο φύλων με ειδική έμφαση στο Εργαστήριο Υφαντικής, στο οποίο φοιτούσε η πλειοψηφία των σπουδαστριών. Θα εξεταστούν οι περιπτώσεις των Lucia Moholy, Marianne Brandt, Gunta Stölzl και Anni Albers. Θα παρουσιαστεί ο καθοριστικός τους ρόλος στην αναγνώριση του Bauhaus και θα σχολιαστεί ο παραγκωνισμός που αντιμετώπισαν, τόσο μέσα στη σχολή από τους άνδρες καθηγητές και σπουδαστές, όσο και στο ευρύτερο κοινωνικό τους περιβάλλον. | Description: | This dissertation studies the female creativity inside the Bauhaus school and role of those artists who through their innovative works identified the identity of the school. Its main aim is to shed light on the reasons that led to the lack of recognition of students and of the didactic work of women in Bauhaus, based mainly on the social stereotypes that prevailed for women in the early 20th century and afterwards. In particular, the dissertation studies the treatment of women in Bauhaus and the coexistence of the two sexes, with special emphasis to the Weaving Workshop attended by the majority of women students. I will examine the cases of Lucia Moholy, Marianne Brandt, Gunta Stölzl and Anni Albers.
