| dc.description | This research records well-known animation productions in order to examine the idea of “man’s physical superiority”. The primacy of the male against the female, in the way that is derived from our social structures and political discriminatory practices, which consider the woman to be “the weaker sex”. This theory is reflected on the design of female characters from well-known animation productions, thus this research makes some new proposals, which will work as a solution for these characters. The research is focused on well-known animation productions of the Western and American culture and mostly on specific productions of Disney. It is focused on script, character design and the creation of movement and behavior, which served as technical means for the production, cinematographic material and film language, highlighting the misogyny in our society. The deliverables of this research are focused on the document of survey records that enhance and analyze the problem, and on the practical part which includes redesigning the characters of five known animation productions, which act as design proposals in order to solve the problem addressed in this research. These redesigns have as a main objective to strip each and every single misogynistic stereotype of the female characters, in order to respond better to the feministic trends of our time. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Η παρούσα έρευνα έχει σκοπό να καταγράψει γνωστές κινηματογραφικές παραγωγές κινουμένων σχεδίων, να εξετάσει σε αυτές την ιδέα “της φυσικής ανωτερότητας του άνδρα”. Δηλαδή την πρωτοκαθεδρία του αρσενικού ενάντια στο θηλυκό, όπως προκύπτει από τις κοινωνικές δομές και πολιτικές πρακτικές διακρίσεων που θεωρούν τη γυναίκα “ασθενές φύλο” και που εκφράζεται σχεδιαστικά σε γνωστούς γυναικείους χαρακτήρες κινουμένων σχεδίων και να προτείνει για τους χαρακτήρες αυτούς, νέες σχεδιαστικές λύσεις. Η έρευνα εστιάζεται στις γνωστές παραγωγές κινουμένων σχεδίων από τον Δυτικό πολιτισμό, με κύριο άξονα την Αμερική και συγκεκριμένα σε παραγωγές της Ντίσνεϊ. Θα εστιάσει στο σενάριο, τον σχεδιασμό χαρακτήρων, τη δημιουργία της κίνησης και των συμπεριφορών που λειτούργησαν ως τεχνικά μέσα προς την παραγωγή κινηματογραφικού υλικού και κινηματογραφικής γλώσσας και που όμως προβάλλουν τον μισογυνισμό στις κοινωνίες στις οποίες απευθύνονται. Στα παραδοτέα αυτής της έρευνας είναι το θεωρητικό κομμάτι που εστιάζει στην καταγραφή ανάδειξη και ανάλυση του προβλήματος, και το πρακτικό μέρος που περιλαμβάνει τον επανασχεδιασμό χαρακτήρων από πέντε γνωστές παραγωγές κινουμένων σχεδίων και το οποίο λειτουργεί ως προτεινόμενη σχεδιαστική λύση στο πρόβλημα που πραγματεύεται η έρευνα. Ο επανασχεδιασμός αυτός που πιθανόν να προκαλέσει θετικές ή αρνητικές αντιδράσεις, έχει κύριο στόχο να απογυμνώσει κάθε μισογυνιστικό στερεότυπο από τους γυναικείους χαρακτήρες γνωστών παραγωγών κινουμένων σχεδίων, και να ανταποκριθεί περισσότερο στις φεμινιστικές τάσεις της εποχής μας. | en_US |
