Abstract: The structural and functional characteristics of the vasculature plays an important role in the pathopysiology of hypertension and its complications. Moreover, the sequels of essential hypertension on rhythm disturbances is currently under vigorous investigation as an unexplored topic. Thus, the present study was conducted to investigate the contribution of the elasticity status of the great vessels to the genesis of atrial fibrillation in hypertensives.
