Biography
Dr. Andrew Laghos is a musician and academic. He is a faculty member of the School of Fine and Applied Arts, Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts of the Cyprus University of Technology, and of the Art + Design: elearning lab. Prior to this, he was a faculty member at the University of Nicosia Cyprus. Andrew has 25+ years of music experience in composing and live performances (mainly drums and guitar), including awards for songwriting, bands, full album releases, radio airplay, media interviews, solo projects and other musical collaborations. He has performed locally and internationally at concerts and festivals including a gig supporting Sabaton, appearing at a festival headlined by Stratovarius, and performing at MetalDays Festival in a lineup that included In Flames and Meshuggah, among many others. Dr Laghos holds a PhD specializing in Social Networks and Computer Assisted Language Learning from City University UK, an MSc in Interactive Multimedia from Middlesex University UK, a BSc in Computer Science and a Certificate in Website Development both from Webster University USA, a Cambridge CELTA Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), and a Professional Certificate in Drums from Berklee College of Music. His research/artistic/creative interests include Music, Education, English, Internet, while he teaches courses such as Music and Drums.
