Biography
Branka Cuca, (1982, Serbia) Architect, PhD in Geomatics and Infrastructure, is a Research Associate at Politecnico di Milano (Polimi), Dept. of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (ABC). In spring 2013, she has joined the Laboratory of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics, at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics at CUT as a Visiting Researcher. She conducts multidisciplinary R&D activities concerning survey, documentation and valorization of built heritage and landscape and existing buildings in general with focus on close-range photogrammetry, geo-information and spatial data infrastructures (SDI). Since February 2014 she actively collaborating with CUT on the project “RiskA - Managing Cultural Heritage Sites through Space and ground Technologies using Geographical Information Systems: A Pilot application at the archaeological sites of Paphos”. Dr. Cuca was involved in a range of international projects in Italy, Serbia, Albania, Belgium and Cyprus, collaborating with some of the most prestigious universities in Europe, as well as with UNESCO chair for Preventive Conservation (KULeuven). She is a member of International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and Comité International de Photogrammétrie Architecturale (CIPA) since 2012. Since July 2013 she is a co-chair of Earth Observation/Copernicus Working Group of NEREUS (Network of European Regions Using Space Technologies). Since 2011 she is a Contract Professor at Polimi teaching Innovative surveying technologies for heritage preservation and maintenance. She is a lecturer of the on-going Summer School at Leicester University (2013-2016) “FORmation of Multi-disciplinary Approaches to Training in Earth Observation”, organized in collaboration with several European Universities.
