Antιgoni Parmaxi is a Special Teaching Staff (Greek language) at the Language Centre of the Cyprus University of Technology. She completed her bachelor degree in Classical Studies at the University of Cyprus and master degree in Pedagogical Sciences with specialisation in Educational Administration and Cultural Dimensions in Education, at the same University. Currently she is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts focusing on Computer Assisted Language Learning and member of the Cyprus Interaction Lab. In her PhD thesis she explores the development of a theoretical and methodological framework for enhancing language learning within social technologies. She taught Greek as a second language in primary and secondary education in Cyprus, whilst she also dealt with the support of students with learning difficulties at the University of Cyprus. Her main research interests focus on Computer Assisted Language Learning, social technologies, constructionism, participatory design methodology and intercultural education.
