Abstract: Evaluation, renewal and change constitute a necessary and integral part of any curriculum. This book attempts to offer a blueprint on the evaluation of English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) course through the example of such a course offered for the Department of Agricultural Sciences, Biotechnology and Food Science of the Cyprus University of Technology. The book is written to interest a broad spectrum of readers such as teachers of not only English but other languages as well, language teacher trainers, and curriculum developers. It is premised on the notion that effective language learning best occurs when the curriculum is systematically evaluated, reviewed and renewed. It explores current theories and practices in ESP, and then describes and discusses the different stages of the specific curriculum evaluation, results and suggestions for renewal. The book is specifically designed for ESAP practitioners. However, a wide range of audiences, including language trainers and organisations involved in language teaching, curriculum development, evaluation and renewal will find the strategies and ESAP course evaluation of this book relevant to their work.
