Title: | Frequency independent sinusoidal suppression using median filters | Authors: | Kasparis, Takis | metadata.dc.contributor.other: | Κασπαρής, Τάκης | Major Field of Science: | Engineering and Technology | Field Category: | Electrical Engineering - Electronic Engineering - Information Engineering | Keywords: | Signal processing;Signal detection;Frequency meters;Information theory | Issue Date: | Apr-1991 | Source: | Proceedings of the International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991, Toronto, Canada | Conference: | IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP) | Abstract: | The authors proposes the use of a modified median filter operating in the frequency domain for the detection and suppression of narrowband signals of sufficient power, without regard to their center frequency, bandwidth, or peak power. This approach performs better than traditional linear filters (such as notch filters), and it offers several other significant advantages over similar techniques that have been used so far. A primary application of the approach is antijamming protection of direct-sequence spread-spectrum systems. | ISSN: | 0736-7791 | DOI: | 10.1109/ICASSP.1991.150777 | Rights: | © 1991 IEEE | Type: | Conference Papers | Affiliation: | University of Central Florida | Affiliation : | University of Central Florida | Publication Type: | Peer Reviewed |
