dc.description.abstract | The switched capacitor circuit in the Double Switch Single Capacitor (DSSC) configuration was shown in the past to improve the displacement power factor and harmonic current distortion separately. In this paper, the operation of the circuit is extended to combine the two operations thus improving the displacement power factor by supplying both reactive fundamental current and selective harmonic current elimination. This is done in a closed loop circuit where the load is monitored and the compensating current is produced accordingly. It shown that the displacement power factor is improved to almost unity and the selected 3rd harmonic is reduced by more than 90% | en_US |
