Abstract: In this paper we present the development of monolithic fibre lasers advanced using the plane-by-plane femtosecond laser inscription method. We present lasers designed for operation in the near- and mid-infrared wavelength ranges. We also present recent results regarding the development of polarizing elements, such as tilted fibre Bragg gratings, in order to realise pulsed fibre lasers.
