https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.14279/29211| Title: | Η ναυτιλιακή φορολογία και η βιωσιμότητα της ναυτιλιακής βιομηχανίας | Authors: | Ξενοφώντος, Ήρα | Keywords: | Ναυτιλία;Φορολογία;Βιωσιμότητα;Κύπρος | Advisor: | Kalotychou, Elena | Issue Date: | May-2023 | Department: | Department of Finance, Accounting and Management Science | Faculty: | Faculty of Management and Economics | Abstract: | Η παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή είναι προϊόν συνδυασμού και κατανόησης δύο κυρίαρχων και πολύπλοκων κλάδων, αυτών της Ναυτιλίας και της Φορολογίας, στην οποία και μελετήθηκαν οι διάφοροι φόροι που παρουσιάζονται στον τομέα της Ναυτιλίας με εστίαση τα κυπριακά ναυτιλιακά δρώμενα, καθώς και η σύνδεση τους με την ανάγκη ύπαρξης μιας πιο βιώσιμης ναυτιλιακής βιομηχανίας λαμβάνοντας υπόψη τα πολλαπλά και δυσάρεστα προβλήματα που επικρατούν στην σύγχρονη εποχή, τα οποία μαστίζουν δυσμενώς και καθημερινά τον τομέα της Ναυτιλίας όλο και περισσότερο. Η παρούσα διατριβή εκπονήθηκε στο Τμήμα Εμπορίου, Χρηματοοικονομικών και Ναυτιλίας του Τεχνολογικού Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου, υπό την επίβλεψη της επίκουρης καθηγήτριας Δρ. Ελένη Καλότυχου. Η παρούσα διατριβή συνιστάται από την σημασιολογική και ιστορική ανασκόπηση της Ναυτιλίας και το ρόλο που διαδραματίζει αυτός ο κλάδος στην Κύπρο. Εν συνεχεία, γίνεται μια πιο ειδική ερμηνευτική και ιστορική επεξήγηση της Φορολογίας σε σχέση με τη μέγιστη πλεονάζουσα σημασία που επιφέρει στην Κυπριακή Ναυτιλία. Περαιτέρω, αναλύονται οι κυπριακοί φόροι που εντοπίζονται στο τομέα της Ναυτιλίας με κυριότερη έμφαση στο Φόρο Χωρητικότητας, πιο συνοπτικά στο Φόρο Προστιθέμενης Αξίας, στον Εταιρικό Φόρο και στον Πράσινο Φόρο και αυτοί περιγράφονται μαζί με τα κυριότερα χαρακτηριστικά τους. Στην παρούσα μεταπτυχιακή διατριβή, γίνεται λεπτομερής αναφορά στη βιωσιμότητα της Ναυτιλίας, στα προβλήματα με τα οποία έρχεται αντιμέτωπη η ναυτιλιακή βιομηχανία, στη πρόταση λύσεων και στην υιοθέτηση στρατηγικών για την επίλυση των προβλημάτων αυτών καθώς και στον ουσιώδες ρόλο που διαδραματίζουν το περιβάλλον, η κοινωνία και η εταιρική διακυβέρνηση στην προστασία του περιβάλλοντος και της αειφόρου ανάπτυξης. Εν κατακλείδι, η παρούσα διατριβή ολοκληρώνεται με την παρουσίαση της απόδοσης των χωρών για την κλιματική αλλαγή, την εξαγωγή συμπερασμάτων και εισηγήσεων για μια πιο βιώσιμη και φιλική προς το περιβάλλον Ναυτιλία. | Description: | This master's thesis is the product of a combination and understanding of two dominant and complex branches, those of Shipping and Taxation, in which the various taxes presented in the Shipping sector were studied with a focus on Cypriot shipping events, as well as their connection with the need. existence of a more sustainable shipping industry taking into account the multiple and unpleasant problems prevailing in the modern era, which plague the Shipping sector adversely and daily more and more. This thesis was prepared at the Department of Commerce, Finance and Shipping of the Cyprus University of Technology, under the invocation of assistant professor Dr. Eleni Kalotichou. This thesis consists of the semantic and historical analysis of Shipping and the role played by this industry in Cyprus. Subsequently, a more specific interpretative and historical explanation of Taxation is made in relation to the maximum excess importance it brings to Cypriot Shipping. Furthermore, the Cypriot taxes found in the Shipping sector are analyzed with the main emphasis on the Capacity Tax, more briefly on the Value Added Tax, the Corporate Tax and the Green Tax and are described together with their main characteristics. In this master's thesis, a detailed reference is made to the sustainability of Shipping, the problems faced by the shipping industry, the proposal of solutions and the adoption of strategies to solve these problems as well as the essential role played by the environment, society and corporate governance in environmental protection and sustainable development.
