Για το σκοπό αυτό γίνεται μια διερεύνηση και καταγραφή των εφαρμοζόμενων τεχνολογιών αφαλάτωσης ανά το παγκόσμιο όπως επίσης και οι μέθοδοι που μπορούν να χρησιμοποιηθούν για την ανάκτηση του χλωρίου από την άλμη. Λαμβάνοντας υπόψη την παραγωγή άλμης της μονάδας αφαλάτωσης επιλέγεται η κατάλληλη μέθοδος ανάκτησης χλωρίου, ενώ υπολογίζεται και η ποσότητα του παραγόμενου χλωρίου. Το χλώριο που παράγεται μπορεί να επαναχρησιμοποιηθεί από την ίδια τη μονάδα κατά τη διάρκεια του σταδίου προεπεξεργασίας του θαλασσινού νερού, στην τροφοδοσία. | Description: | The purpose of this Master Thesis is to study the production of chlorine using saltwater which is the product of an existing desalination plant at Episkopi of Limassol. For this purpose, an investigation and recording of the applied desalination technologies worldwide as well as the methods that can be used to recover the chlorine from the brine are studied. Considering the production brine desalination unit, the appropriate chlorine recovery process is selected, while the amount of produced chlorine is estimated. The chlorine produced can be reused by the same unit during the stage of pretreatment of seawater at feedstock.
