Abstract
Object of study of this thesis was the big problem which is created from the waste of all kinds, but what we concerns us primarily because the object of our faculty are discarded food wrappers in Cyprus. Aim of this study is to show the extent of the problem and to propose integrated management methods for packaging discarded.
In the first chapter the problem occurs, by giving the quantities and composition of waste from packaging and how to address them, their management strategies from 1993 until today. The objective of the chapter it is the documentation of materiality of the problem and comparison of the quantities but also the way the management of Cyprus with the EU.
In the second chapter presented solutions which followed for the management of waste and grown management methods, such as sorting, reuse, recycling and various heat treatments involving. The aim of this chapter is to understand the importance that has on how we firstly, each one of us, can manage waste in such a way so that to achieve their reduction, as much as possible.
In the third and last chapter presents the proposal which is the burning of waste. We came up with this proposal given the fact that the largest amount of waste it will be exploited, as is already becomes in other ways. Therefore, recommended a process which is feasible for burning of waste which remain.
