dc.descriptionOrgan transplant is a part of a rapid development of biomedical sciences which contributes significantly when dealing with various human diseases. Organ donation is therefore the most sacred medical act which imposes the outmost respect in both the donor as well as his family. It is often described as an act of altruism and as a volunteering act of giving-donating. The gift of donating an organ is valuable which often occurs from a sudden and sometimes tragic death, whereas the burden of taking such an important decision, meaning to have an organ removed lies solely on the donor‘s family. An organ donation from brain dead patients is a particularly ambiguous matter. Therefore, it is necessary to study the factors which influence attitudes either positively or negatively.en_US
dc.description.abstractΟι μεταμοσχεύσεις οργάνων αποτελούν μια αλματώδη εξέλιξη των βιοϊατρικών επιστημών η οποία συμβάλει καθοριστικά στην αντιμετώπιση διαφόρων ασθενειών στον άνθρωπο. Η δωρεά οργάνων αποτελεί την πλέον ιερή ιατρική πράξη και επιβάλλει απόλυτο σεβασμό τόσο στο δότη όσο και στην οικογένεια του. Περιγράφεται συχνά ως μια πράξη αλτρουισμού και ως μια εθελοντική πράξη παροχής – δωρεάς. Το δώρο ενός οργάνου είναι πολύτιμο και επέρχεται συχνά μέσω ενός ξαφνικού και τραγικού θανάτου, ενώ το φορτίο λήψης απόφασης για την αφαίρεση ενός οργάνου πλέον εναπόκειται στην οικογένεια του δότη. Η δωρεά οργάνων από εγκεφαλικά νεκρούς ασθενείς αποτελεί ένα ιδιαίτερα αμφιλεγόμενο ζήτημα. Έτσι, είναι απαραίτητο να μελετηθούν οι παράγοντες που επηρεάζουν θετικά ή αρνητικά τις στάσεις τουςen_US
