dc.descriptionWe report on the Carbon Dioxide solubility in wet aerosols by Molecular Dynamics Simulations. The interaction between atmospheric water phases and carbon dioxide, as well as the organic content in Cloud Condensation Nuclei (CCN), have been implicated in the acidity of rainwater. In this thesis, we probe the effects of two organic molecules on carbon dioxide solubility and correlate the results to the pH of rainwater.en_US
dc.description.abstractH παρούσα διπλωματική είχε ως στόχο την μελέτη της δυναμικής του διοξειδίου του άνθρακα σε υδατικά αερολύματα με την μεθοδολογία της Μοριακής Δυναμικής και Μηχανικής. Η αλληλεπίδραση των ατμοσφαιρικών φάσεων του νερού με το διοξειδίου του άνθρακα, καθώς και η συμβολή τους στη δημιουργία νεφών κρίνονται σημαντικοί παράγοντες που επιδρούν στο pH της βροχής. Στην παρούσα διατριβή ελέγχεται η επίπτωση οργανικών ειδών στη διαλυτότητα του διοξειδίου του άνθρακα και εξάγονται συμπεράσματα για τις επιπτώσεις στο pH της βροχής.en_US
