dc.descriptionAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) are developmental communication disorders. In the modern literature, the existence of verbal difficulties in people with ASD is mentioned which persist, referring to CAS. The purpose of this study is to examine the phonetic and phonological skills of a 7; 6-year-old bidialectal Cypriot Greek boy with ASD and CAS and the application of phonological intervention using phonologically dense word-targets with the aim of improving of output intelligibility. The objective was achieved through a detailed description of the percentage of proportion of clusters correct (Proportion of Clusters Correct - PCLC) and the percentage of whole word match (Whole Word Match-WWM). This research is single-case multiple baseline study. An informal assessment list was used for skills before and after the intervention and based on the errors, 12 word-target cohorts were created. This was followed by the intervention period which lasted for 4 weeks, with a frequency of once a week for 45 minutes, with the inclusion of 3 cohorts of words-targets in each session. To verify statistical significance, a series of non-parametric t-tests was performed in the Jamovi program. The results showed a significant statistical difference and improvement in performance for the PCLC percentage and a statistical difference four times greater than the pre-test for the WWM percentage. An upward trend was observed in both variables. Thus, the effect of phonological intervention using phonologically dense word-targets in promoting intelligibility is evident.en_US
dc.description.abstractΗ Διαταραχή Αυτιστικού Φάσματος (ΔΑΦ) και η Παιδική Απραξία Λόγου (ΠΑΛ) αποτελούν αναπτυξιακές διαταραχές επικοινωνίας. Στη σύγχρονη βιβλιογραφία αναφέρεται η ύπαρξη λεκτικών δυσκολιών στα άτομα με ΔΑΦ οι οποίες εμμένουν, παραπέμποντας σε ΠΑΛ. Σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η μελέτη των φωνητικών και φωνολογικών δεξιοτήτων ενός δια-διαλεκτικού αγοριού της Κυπριακής Ελληνικής ηλικίας 7;6 χρονών με ΔΑΦ σε συννοσηρότητα με ΠΑΛ και η εφαρμογή φωνολογικής παρέμβασης με τη χρήση λέξεων – στόχων με φωνολογική επικάλυψη με στόχο τη βελτίωση της καταληπτότητας. Ο στόχος επιτεύχθηκε μέσω λεπτομερούς περιγραφής του ποσοστού ορθής παραγωγής συμπλεγμάτων (Proportion of Clusters Correct - PCLC) και του ποσοστού ταύτισης ολικής λέξης (Whole Word Match-WWM). Η συγκεκριμένη έρευνα αποτελεί μελέτη περίπτωσης βάσει πολλαπλών μετρήσεων με ένα συμμετέχοντα. Για την αξιολόγηση των δεξιοτήτων πριν και μετά τη παρέμβαση χρησιμοποιήθηκε ανεπίσημη αξιολογητική λίστα και με βάση τα λάθη που παρατηρήθηκαν, δημιουργήθηκαν 12 συστάδες λέξεων. Ακολούθησε η θεραπευτική περιόδος η οποία διήρκησε 4 βδομάδες, με συχνότητα μία φορά τη βδομάδα για 45 λεπτά, με τη συμπερίληψη 3 συστάδων λέξεων στη κάθε συνεδρία. Για την εξακρίβωση στατιστικής σημαντικότητας διεξήχθηκε σειρά από t-test non parametrics στο πρόγραμμα Jamovi. Τα αποτελέσματα κατέδειξαν σημαντική στατιστική διαφορά και βελτίωση της επίδοσης στο ποσοστό PCLC και στατιστική διαφορά τέσσερις φορές μεγαλύτερη από το pre-test για το ποσοστό WWM. Και στις δύο μεταβλητές παρατηρήθηκε ανοδική τάση. Έτσι, διαφαίνεται η επίδραση της φωνολογικής παρέμβασης με τη χρήση λέξεων με φωνολογική επικάλυψη στη προαγωγή της καταληπτότητας.en_US
