| dc.description | Background: The hospitalization of the newborn in NICU seems to create many negative emotions to parents as a result of which they experience an unprecedented and difficult experience both for themselves and for an entire family. Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate the experiences of parents with premature infants who were hospitalized in NICU. Material and method: It has been implemented qualitative methodology and content analysis was used to investigate the experiences of parents with premature infants, who were treated at NICU. One-on-one, online, semi-structured interviews were conducted from June to October 2021 with 11 parents of preterm infants who met the admission criteria. The data analysis was performed by the method of conventional exploratory content analysis. Results: The analysis of the data has been divided to the following categories: a) Experience from hospitalization and b) Strategies management of the treatment of premature infants during the Covid-19 pandemic. The experiences from the hospitalization of the infant in NICU concerned 1) experiences of the parents, 2) conditions of hospitalization - environment of NICU, 3) specificity of the hospitalization, 4) experiences from the nursing staff, 5) description of traumatic experience, 6) neuro-psychological mother status, 7) NICU interventions to reduce separation anxiety, 8) individual stress management strategies and 9) supportive environment. The management strategies for the treatment of premature infants during the Covid-19 pandemic concerned 1) restrictive measures taken at the NICU during the pandemic and 2) staff behavior during the pandemic. Conclusion: The hospitalization of the infant in NICU leads the parents to face a difficult and psychedelic experience, which causes them many conflicting emotions. Parents of premature infants receive support from their partner, family, social environment, other parents who have had a similar experience and NICU health professionals. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic was another additional aggravating factor, which made the experience of these parents even more difficult and extremely demanding. Finally, it was found that fathers are excluded from the care and therapeutic interventions of their infants but also from the information about the health status of the infant. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Εισαγωγή: Η νοσηλεία του νεογνού στη ΜΕΝΝ φαίνεται να δημιουργεί στους γονείς πολλά αρνητικά συναισθήματα με αποτέλεσμα να βιώνουν μια πρωτόγνωρη και δύσκολη εμπειρία τόσο για τους ίδιους, αλλά και για ολόκληρη την οικογένεια. Σκοπός: Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η διερεύνηση των εμπειριών των γονέων με πρόωρα νεογνά τα οποία νοσηλεύτηκαν στη ΜΕΝΝ. Υλικό και μέθοδος: Εφαρμόστηκε ποιοτική μεθοδολογία και χρησιμοποιήθηκε η ανάλυση περιεχομένου για τη διερεύνηση των εμπειριών των γονέων με πρόωρα νεογνά, τα οποία νοσηλεύτηκαν στη ΜΕΝΝ. Πραγματοποιήθηκαν ατομικές, διαδικτυακές, ημι-δομημένες συνεντεύξεις από τον Ιούνιο μέχρι τον Οκτώβριο του 2021 με 11 γονείς πρόωρων νεογνών, οι οποίοι πληρούσαν τα κριτήρια εισδοχής. Η ανάλυση των δεδομένων έγινε με τη μέθοδο της συμβατικής διερευνητικής ανάλυσης περιεχομένου. Αποτελέσματα: Από την ανάλυση των δεδομένων προέκυψαν δύο κύριες ενότητες: α) Εμπειρία από τη νοσηλεία και β) Στρατηγικές διαχείρισης της νοσηλείας των πρόωρων νεογνών κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας Covid-19. Οι εμπειρίες από τη νοσηλεία του νεογνού στη ΜΕΝΝ αφορούσαν 1) εμπειρίες των γονέων, 2) συνθήκες νοσηλείας - περιβάλλον της ΜΕΝΝ, 3) ιδιαιτερότητα της νοσηλείας, 4) εμπειρίες από το νοσηλευτικό προσωπικό, 5) περιγραφή τραυματικού βιώματος, 6) νευρο-ψυχολογική κατάσταση μητέρας, 7) παρεμβάσεις της ΜΕΝΝ για μείωση του άγχους του αποχωρισμού, 8) ατομικές στρατηγικές διαχείρισης της στρεσογόνου κατάστασης και 9) υποστηρικτικό περιβάλλον. Οι στρατηγικές διαχείρισης της νοσηλείας των προώρων νεογνών κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας Covid-19 αφορούσαν 1) περιοριστικά μέτρα που λήφθηκαν στις ΜΕΝΝ κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας και 2) συμπεριφορά προσωπικού κατά τη διάρκεια της πανδημίας. Συμπέρασμα: Η νοσηλεία του νεογνού στη ΜΕΝΝ οδηγεί τους γονείς αντιμέτωπους με μια δύσκολη και ψυχοφθόρα εμπειρία, η οποία τους προκαλεί πολλά αντικρουόμενα συναισθήματα. Οι γονείς πρόωρων νεογνών λαμβάνουν στήριξη από το σύντροφο τους, την οικογένεια, το κοινωνικό τους περίγυρο, από άλλους γονείς που βίωσαν μια παρόμοια εμπειρία αλλά και από τους επαγγελματίες υγείας της ΜΕΝΝ. Επίσης, η πανδημία COVID-19 ήταν ακόμη ένας επιπλέον επιβαρυντικός παράγοντας, ο οποίος έκαναν την εμπειρία αυτών των γονέων ακόμη πιο δύσκολη και εξαιρετικά απαιτητική. Τέλος, διαπιστώθηκε ότι οι πατέρες αποκλείονται από τη φροντίδα και τις θεραπευτικές παρεμβάσεις των νεογνών τους αλλά και από την ενημέρωση για την κατάσταση υγεία του νεογνού. | en_US |
