Η συγκεκριμένη έρευνα προσπαθεί να εξετάσει τον οπαδισμό από τη σκοπιά των ίδιων των οπαδών. Τι σημαίνει να είναι κάποιος οπαδός και το βαθμό ταύτισης με μία ομάδα. Πόσο στενή σχέση μπορεί να έχει κάποιος με την ομάδα του αλλά και πόσο φανατικός μπορεί να γίνει κάποιος. Μελετά τις μορφές βίας οι οποίες παρατηρούνται στα γήπεδα αλλά και έξω από αυτά, το νόημα και τον αντίκτυπο των επεισοδίων για τους οπαδούς και τους σημαντικότερους λόγους που ευνοούν την πρόκληση επεισοδίων σύμφωνα με την άποψη των οπαδών. Τέλος, καταπιάνεται με τις εισηγήσεις και απόψεις των οπαδών για πιθανές προοπτικές βελτίωσης που προκύπτουν στα ζητήματα βίας μεταξύ των οπαδών αλλά και ιδέες για το πώς μπορεί το Κυπριακό ποδόσφαιρο να ορθοποδήσει. Για την απάντηση των ερευνητικών ερωτημάτων έχει επιλεχθεί η μέθοδος των συνεντεύξεων. Το δείγμα αποτέλεσαν 18 οπαδοί κυπριακών ομάδων ηλικίας 22-35 ετών. Τα αποτελέσματα κατέδειξαν ότι οι περισσότεροι οπαδοί διατηρούν μία πολύ στενή σχέση με την ομάδα τους, σχέση την οποία έχουν αποκτήσει από τα παιδικά τους χρόνια πηγαίνοντας στο γήπεδο και είναι εμφανώς επηρεασμένοι από τις πολιτικές πεποιθήσεις πολιτικές ιδεολογίες που πρεσβεύουν τα σωματεία που υποστηρίζουν και συνδέονται με το ποδόσφαιρο. Υποδεικνύουν την αστυνομία ως σημαντικό αίτιο για την ύπαρξη επεισοδίων και στη συνέχεια τη κακή διαιτησία, την εμπλοκή παραγόντων και τα στημένα παιχνίδια. Η βία μπορεί να είναι λεκτική, με χρήση υβριστικών συνθημάτων, τραγουδιών, καθώς και σωματική με την άμεση εμπλοκή των οπαδών. Μέσα από τα ευρήματα αναδύονται σημαντικές πεποιθήσεις και εισηγήσεις των οπαδών για αρμονική συνύπαρξη οπαδών και φορέων για μια εύρυθμη διεξαγωγή των αγώνων και για εξυγίανση του Κυπριακού ποδοσφαίρου. | Description: | For many years, hooliganism has been a problem that plagues football with the fans being the ones that are directly enmeshed. This happens as the supporters are involved in incidents of violence and clashes with both rival fans and several other authorities under certain circumstances. This research tries to examine the fan culture from the supporters' point of view as well as the broader meaning of the word ''fan'' and the degree of one’s identification with his or her team. It also attempts to find out how close a relationship between a supporter and his team can get and how fanatic someone might become. In addition, this project tries to investigate the different types of violence that are observed both inside and outside the football pitch along with the impact that the incidents may have on the fans. It also analyses the most important reasons that favor the provocation of hooliganism according to them. Finally, it is concerned with the fans recommendations regarding improvements that may occur in this sport. As for the research questions, the answers were given through semi-structured in-depth interviews. The sample consisted of Cypriot fans aged 22-35. The results showed that most fans maintain a very close relationship with their team, a bond they have established since childhood while faithfully supporting their favourite team in every match; it is evident that they are clearly influenced by the political beliefs associated with football. Fans accuse police as the main factor for the incidents and then the bad refereeing, the fixed games and all those that are involved in them. Violence is expressed into words through inappropriate language and chants and through direct involvement of fans in physical fights. Hooliganism has a negative impact on the organized groups resulting in their weakening. So, the same organized groups condemn violence and try to avoid such kind of incidences as much as possible. According to the findings of this project, a number of important recommendations and convictions emerge.
