| dc.description | Introduction: Midwifery care in the community is a very important provision for the health of the mother, the newborn and the family. The midwife in a community plays an important role in the general health of the population, as it provides holistic prenatal and postnatal care aimed at promoting women's health during reproductive age, pregnancy, childbirth and family health promotion. Aim: The purpose of this study is to investigate the views of the mothers on the need for midwifery care in the community. Material-Method: Qualitative research. 11 mothers from the 5 provinces of Cyprus participated. Data collection with semi-structured interviews. Data analysis using the Colaizzi method including the following procedures: Results: The majority of participants (n = 8) stated that they would like help from professionals (their gynecologist or midwife), but receive help from their family and friends. The majority of participants (n = 9) stated that the provision of midwifery care in the community is important especially for breastfeeding issues, physical problems due to caesarean section and psychological problems experienced by mothers. Conclusions: Midwifery care in the community is a very necessary and important provision of care, especially in matters of breastfeeding and strengthening the mother and promoting the health of mother and newborn. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Εισαγωγή: Η μαιευτική φροντίδα στην κοινότητα αποτελεί μια ιδιαίτερα σημαντική παροχή για την υγεία της μητέρας, του νεογνού και της οικογένειας. Η μαία σε μια κοινότητα διαδραματίζει σημαντικό ρόλο για τη γενικότερη υγεία του πληθυσμού, αφού παρέχει ολιστική προγεννητική και μεταγεννητική φροντίδα με στόχο την προαγωγή της υγείας της γυναίκας κατά την αναπαραγωγική ηλικία, την περίοδο της εγκυμοσύνης, στη διεκπεραίωση του τοκετού και στην προαγωγή υγειών οικογενειών. Σκοπός: Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης είναι η διερεύνηση των απόψεων των μητέρων για την ανάγκη παροχής μαιευτικής φροντίδας στην κοινότητα. Υλικό-Μέθοδος: Ποιοτική περιγραφική . Συμμετείχαν 11 μητέρες από τις 5 επαρχίες της Κύπρου. Συλλογή δεδομένων με ημιδομημένες συνεντεύξεις. Ανάλυση δεδομένων με τη μέθοδο Colaizzi. Αποτελέσματα: Η πλειοψηφία των συμμετεχουσών (ν = 8) δήλωσαν ότι θα ήθελαν να έχουν βοήθεια από επαγγελματίες (το γυναικολόγο τους ή τη μαία), αλλά δέχονται βοήθεια από το οικογενειακό και το φιλικό τους περιβάλλον. Η πλειοψηφία των συμμετεχουσών (ν = 9) δήλωσαν ότι η παροχή μαιευτικής φροντίδας στην κοινότητα είναι σημαντική ειδικά για τα θέματα θηλασμού, τα σωματικά προβλήματα λόγω καισαρικής και τα ψυχολογικά προβλήματα που βιώνουν οι μητέρες. Συμπεράσματα: Η μαιευτική φροντίδα στην κοινότητα αποτελεί μια ιδιαίτερα αναγκαία και σημαντική παροχή φροντίδας, ειδικά στα θέματα του θηλασμού και της ενδυνάμωσης της μητέρας και τη προαγωγή της υγείας της μητέρας και του νεογνού. | en_US |
