dc.descriptionThis Postgraduate Thesis examines the use of environmental systems, in particular ISO 14001, in a Cypriot company producing, importing and exporting agricultural products, taking into account the climate change. Climate change is, and especially the consequences that are now an integral part of our lives. Thus, finding ways to mitigate these consequences is necessary. The Postgraduate Thesis refers to Cypriot industries that affect the environment, the types of emissions resulting from exports, and the benefits of implementing environmental management tools. Finally, measures that can be taken to reduce pollutants and energy are described.en_US
dc.description.abstractΗ συγκεκριμένη Μεταπτυχιακή Διατριβή (Μ.Δ.) εξετάζει τη χρήση περιβαλλοντικών συστημάτων, πιο συγκεκριμένα του ISO 14001 σε κυπριακή εταιρεία παραγωγής, εισαγωγής και εξαγωγής γεωργικών προϊόντων, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη την κλιματική αλλαγή. Η κλιματική αλλαγή είναι, και πόσο μάλλον οι συνέπειες που προκύπτουν, πλέον αναπόσπαστο κομμάτι στη ζωή μας. Έτσι, η εξεύρεση τρόπων περιορισμού αυτών των συνεπειών είναι αναγκαία. Στην παρούσα Μ.Δ. γίνεται αναφορά στις κυπριακές βιομηχανίες που επηρεάζουν το περιβάλλον, στους τύπους εκπομπών που προκύπτουν από τις εξαγωγές καθώς και στα οφέλη που προκύπτουν από την εφαρμογή των εργαλείων περιβαλλοντικής διαχείρισης. Τέλος, περιγράφονται μέτρα που μπορούν να ληφθούν για τη μείωση των ρύπων και της κατανάλωσης ενέργειας.en_US
