| dc.description | French varieties are closely related to the wild species of vine origin, probably origination in southwest France (Pyrenees) and Tunisia. Viognier is the most popular native white grape variety in the Rhône valley of France, mainly due to its varietal description and special oenological characteristics, which makes it a world-renowned Condrieu wine variety. Therefore, there is an increasing preference for its cultivation, being characterized as a rising and promising variety. It is considered as an extremely difficult winemaking variety to be cultivated but the combination of interactions due to the soil and climate conditions prevailing in the areas cultivated in the vineyards give a unique characteristic quality to the wine. Additionally, we find that "terroir" plays a key role, which is manifested in the wine tasting. It is characterized as a medium-acid wine with full aging potential. During the tasting, scents, flavors and aromas vary from apricots to roses and much to each other. At the same time, Chardonnay lovers will love Viognier, as it has similar features, although it promises much more. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Οι γαλλικές ποικιλίες εμφανίζουν στενή συγγένεια με τον άγριο είδος αμπέλου, του οποίου η προέλευση, πιθανόν να προέρχεται από τη νοτιοδυτική Γαλλία (Πυρηναία) και την Τυνησία. Το Viognier είναι η δημοφιλέστερη ιθαγενής λευκή ποικιλία σταφυλιών της κοιλάδας του Ροδανού της Γαλλίας, κυρίως λόγω της ποικιλιακής περιγραφής και των ιδιαίτερων οινολογικών χαρακτηριστικών, που τη καθιστά ως ποικιλία παγκόσμιου φήμης των κρασιών Condrieu. Επομένως, παρατηρείται μια αυξανομένη προτίμηση για τη καλλιέργεια του, αφού χαρακτηρίζεται ως μια ανερχομένη και πολλά υποσχόμενη ποικιλία. Θεωρείται, ως μια εξαιρετικά δύσκολη οινοποιήσιμη ποικιλία για να καλλιεργηθεί, αλλά ο συνδυασμός των αλληλεπιδράσεων λόγω των εδαφοκλιματικών συνθήκων που επικρατούν στις περιοχές που καλλιεργούνται οι αμπελώνες δίδουν μια μοναδική χαρακτηριστική ποιότητα στο οίνο. Επιπρόσθετα, εντοπίζουμε πως "terroir" παίζει καθοριστικό ρολό, που φανερώνεται έμπρακτα στη γευσιγνωσία. Χαρακτηρίζεται ως οίνος μέσης οξύτητας με το πλήρες δυναμικό παλαίωσης. Κατά τη γευσιγνωσία, ποικίλουν οι μυρωδιές, οι γεύσεις και τα αρώματα, από βερίκοκα μέχρι τριαντάφυλλα και πολλά μεταξύ τους. Παράλληλα ,οι λάτρεις του Chardonnay θα αγαπήσουν το Viognier, καθώς έχει παρόμοια χαρακτηριστικά, παρόλο που υπόσχεται πολύ περισσότερα. | en_US |
