dc.descriptionThe Myth of Orpheus took on such dimensions in the work of symbolic painters of the 19th century. The Orphic Myth, can be a symbol that reflects the real image of both people and artists of the 19th century. The overwhelmed-headed Orpheus by the anger of Maenads is the death of the symbolic painters, since the 19th century also marked the end of an era for Europe and more specifically for France. The performance of this myth by symbolic artists, is dissipated from the climate of the era, particularly through the work of great personalities such as Jean Moreas, Charles Baudelaire, Gustave Moreau and Josephin Peladan. The Myth of Orpheus is so inextricably linked to the general climate that characterized the 19th century, where one could hardly deny it. The question that arises and the concern that is placed, is whether the above myth is nowadays more relevant than ever.en_US
dc.description.abstractΟ μύθος του Ορφέα έλαβε τεράστιες διαστάσεις στο έργο των συμβολιστών ζωγράφων του 19ου αιώνα. Ο ορφικός μύθος προσλαμβάνεται και αποτυπώνεται ως ένα σύμβολο που αντικατοπτρίζει την πραγματική εικόνα του ανθρώπου αλλά και του καλλιτέχνη του 19ου αιώνα. Ο κατακρεουργημένος - αποκεφαλισμένος Ορφέας από την οργή των Μαινάδων προεικονίζει τον θάνατο των ίδιων των συμβολιστών ζωγράφων αφού και ο 19ος αιώνας σηματοδοτούσε για την Ευρώπη και πιο συγκεκριμένα για την Γαλλία το τέλος μιας εποχής. Η απόδοση του μύθου αυτού από τους συμβολιστές καλλιτέχνες, διαχέεται από το κλίμα της εποχής, ιδιαίτερα μέσα από το έργο μεγάλων προσωπικοτήτων όπως του Jean Moreas, του Charles Baudelaire, του Gustave Moreau αλλά και του Josephin Peladan. Ο μύθος του Ορφέα είναι τόσο άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένος με το γενικότερο κλίμα που χαρακτήριζε ιδιαίτερα το ρεύμα των Συμβολιστών ζωγράφων του 19ου αιώνα όπου δύσκολα κάποιος θα μπορούσε να το αρνηθεί. Το ερώτημα που προκύπτει και ο προβληματισμός που τίθεται, είναι, αν ο παραπάνω μύθος γίνεται στις μέρες μας, πιο επίκαιρος από ποτέ.en_US
