Acarologia opened the readership and set up a real open-access in 2010. Since this date Acarologia is free for authors, open-access for readers. Acarologia represents the community of peers in the field of acarology and is non-commercial, community-driven publication platform. It is held by the community of acarologists, for the community of acarologists. The editor-in-chief and the academics editors are proud to be the custodians, for a time, of this journal in a long term perspective.
