Description
Patient-engaged video surveillance (PEVS) is an effective method to track and trend patient aggression toward nursing staff. Patients' verbal/physical abuse against nurses was observed using PEVS, and interventions were initiated by monitor technicians. The majority of patients who exhibited aggressive/violent behavior toward nurses were not identified by RNs as at risk on admission. Read and share this study with colleagues. Many organizations struggle to spread improvement activities through the health care system: the Spread of Innovations Model was developed to guide this process.
