The 4th Annual Virtual EXCELSIOR Workshop entitled “Earth Observation Research Trends in the EMMENA region” took place on July 5th, 2023 and aimed to explore and discuss the latest trends and advancements in Earth observation research specific to the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa (EMMENA) region. Speakers from the EMMENA region presented current research trends in Earth Observation (EO) being performed in their region and the wider Mediterranean region. In the 4th Virtual Workshop, 12 invited talks and presentations were given by high-impact researchers from the EMMENA region. The Workshop also highlighted the importance of ΕΟ research for sustainable development, policy-making, and addressing regional environmental issues.
