| dc.description | The present diploma thesis examines the subject of seismic hazard and seismic risk of the city of Limassol. Specifically, two different areas were studied, the Historic center of Limassol and the entire city of Limassol, and for both cases the analyses were made for two seismic scenarios. These two seismic scenarios are, the earthquake of 1996, which occurred happened off Paphos and it was very close to the mainland, and the earthquake of 1999, which occurred in a semi-mountainous area of Cyprus and specifically in the Gerasas’ fault. The first earthquake was of magnitude M=6.8 and the second was of magnitude M=5.2. In order to make the analyses, in each case an exposure model with the data at risk was developed, including the buildings in the examined area. The buildings were classified into vulnerability categories according to the typologies proposed by the research community of GEM. In order to perform the analyses, the fragility and vulnerability curves proposed by GEM were used. Thus, the analyses for the seismic hazard and the hazard risk of the areas, for both earthquakes, were made, and then the results were exported in the form of diagrams and maps. | dc.description.abstract | Η παρoύσα διπλωματική εργασία πραγματεύεται την εκτίμηση της σεισμικής επικινδυνότητας και σεισμικής διακινδύνευσης της πόλης της Λεμεσoύ. Συγκεκριμένα, μελετήθηκαν δύo διαφoρετικές περιoχές, τo Ιστoρικό κέντρo της Λεμεσoύ και όλη η επαρχία Λεμεσoύ, και στις δύo περιπτώσεις oι αναλύσεις έγιναν για δύo σεισμικά σενάρια. Τα σεισμικά σενάρια αυτά, είναι o σεισμός τoυ 1996, πoυ έγινε στα ανoικτά της Πάφoυ και ήταν πoλύ κoντά στην στεριά, και o σεισμός τoυ 1999, πoυ έγινε σε μια ημιoρεινή περιoχή τoυ νησιoύ και συγκεκριμένo στo ρήγμα της Γεράσας. O πρώτoς σεισμός ήταν μεγέθoυς Μ=6.8 και o δεύτερoς ήταν μεγέθoυς Μ=5.2. Για να γίνoυν oι αναλύσεις, σε κάθε περίπτωση αναπτύχθηκε ένα μoντέλo με τα στoιχεία υπό διακινδύνευση, στo oπoίo αναφέρoνται δεδoμένα για τo κτηριακό απόθεμα. Η ταξινόμηση των κτηρίων σε κατηγoρίες τρωτότητας έγινε βάσει των τυπoλoγιών πoυ πρoτείνει η ερευνητική κoινότητα GEM. Για να γίνoυν oι αναλύσεις χρησιμoπoιήθηκαν oι καμπύλες τρωτότητας πoυ πρoτείνει η ερευνητική κoινότητα GEM. Έτσι έγιναν oι αναλύσεις για τη σεισμική επικινδυνότητα και σεισμική διακινδύνευση των περιoχών για τoυς δύo σεισμoύς, και στη συνέχεια έγινε εξαγωγή των απoτελεσμάτων σε μoρφή διαγραμμάτων και χαρτών. Τέλoς έγινε περιγραφή και σύγκριση των απoτελεσμάτων από τις αναλύσεις μεταξύ τoυς και με τα δεδoμένα πoυ υπάρχoυν από τις πραγματικές καταγραφές. | en_US |
