Στο πλαίσιο αυτό, αρχικά διερευνώνται χαρακτηριστικά φασιστικών καθεστώτων του Μεσοπολέμου και το ιδεολογικό τους υπόστρωμα ως πρότυπο της δικτατορίας του Ιωάννη Μεταξά (1936-1941) στους τομείς της προπαγάνδας και ιδίως στον τομέα της χειραγώγησης της νεολαίας. Επιπλέον, λαμβάνονται υπόψη η μεσοπολεμική συζήτηση περί «ελληνικότητας», καθώς και οι ιστορικές συνθήκες που καθόρισαν τις ιδιαιτερότητες του καθεστώτος της 4ης Αυγούστου 1936, ξεκινώντας από τον Ελληνοτουρκικό Πόλεμο του 1897 και στη συνέχεια με καμπή την οικονομική, κοινωνική και πολιτισμική κρίση της ελληνικής κοινωνίας μετά την Μικρασιατική Καταστροφή το 1922. | Description: | The present thesis focuses on the ideological views on Greek and Cypriot folk culture presented in the review Neolaia (1938-1941), an organ of the Metaxas dictatorship, with special emphasis on the notion of the “Third Hellenic Civilisation” put forward by the regime, as well as the role of the National Youth Organization (E.O.N.). In this context, the thesis examines features of the interwar fascist regimes in Europe and their ideological background as models for the Metaxas dictatorship (1936-1941), especially in the fields of propaganda and the manipulation of the young.
