Το σημαντικό έργο τους αποδει- κνύει πως οι γυναίκες φωτογράφοι συνέβαλαν εξίσου στη διαμόρφωση της ιστορίας της φωτογραφίας, γεγονός το οποίο αποτυπώνεται και στο σύγχρονο ερευνητικό ενδια- φέρον πολλαπλών εκθέσεων, που πραγματοποιούνται τη τελευταία δεκαετία, με κύριο άξονα τη δράση γυναικών φωτογράφων. | Description: | The thesis focuses on the study of women photographers, such, as Anna Atkins and Julia Margaret Cameron, who were active in photography before World War I, and will concentrate on the professional involvement of women photographers during the interwar period by examining the photographic work of Gertude Käsebier, Dorothea Lange, Margaret Bourke-White, Lee Miller, Dora Maar, Yevonde Cumbers Middleton, Claude Cahun, Lucia Moholy and Elli Sougioultzoglou-Seraidari (Nelly's). Their significant work demonstrates the fact that women photographers have equally contributed to the development of the history of photography.
