Dr. Vasiliki Lysandrou is a member of D.G Hadjimitsis (Prof.) research team. She completed her undergraduate studies in Archaeology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She continued her post-graduate studies at the University of Rome “La Sapienza” in Architectural faculty “Valle Giulia” in the field of Restoration of Monuments and sites, following various seminars and lectures regarding the application on technology in the means of preserving ancient monuments, museological issues of open air sites, degradation diagnostic tools etc. She accomplished her Ph.D. in Hellenistic and Roman funerary architecture of Cyprus at the University of Cyprus. She participated in various excavations in Cyprus, Greece and Italy. She is elected Secretary of the present Board of Directors of the Association of Cypriot Archaeologists (ACA). She has published several papers and she has various collaborations in research projects in Cyprus and abroad.Scientific Interests: Funerary architecture and archaeology of death. Architecture of archaeology and archaeology of architecture (analysis of standing archaeological remains). Technological tools and applied sciences for archaeological analysis and restoration of monuments/sites. Preventive conservation and risk identification of monuments/sites.
