Abstract
The Circular Manufacturing Reference Architecture (CMRA) aims to accelerate innovative ICT solutions to boost the adoption of sustainable production practices among manufacturers. It facilitates the creation of hyper-connected supply chain ecosystems with reliable data sharing and advanced ICT features for integration, sustainability assessment, and optimization.

CMRA based solutions will support manufacturers in achieving seamless collaboration throughout the product lifecycle—from resource acquisition to final products and their reintegration into supply chains, minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency.

The CMRA initiative will provide an open reference model to enhance the sustainability and resilience of manufacturing supply chains, suitable for both MSMEs and large manufacturers. It focuses on accelerating manufacturing platform capabilities for reducing waste, optimizing resources, and promoting sustainability.

The CIRCULOOS Platform, developed with input from three industrial pilots, aims to implement CMRA capabilities in real-world settings. Following best practices of agile design and continuous improvement strategies, the platform will be tested and expanded by 16+ external projects funded by the CIRCULOOS innovation action.
