Σε εκπαιδευτικές παρεμβάσεις αναμένεται να συμμετέχουν και οι συγγενείς πρώτου βαθμού, αφού το θέμα της ΔΔ απαιτεί συστημική διαχείριση. Σκοπός: Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης ήταν: α) να διερευνηθούν οι εκπαιδευτικές ανάγκες ατόμων με ΔΔ β) να διερευνηθούν οι εκπαιδευτικές ανάγκες συγγενών πρώτου βαθμού ατόμων με ΔΔ β) να δομηθεί η ηλεκτρονική πλατφόρμα www.mob.com.cy, με σκοπό την παροχή έγκυρης γνώσης για την ΔΔ σε πάσχοντες και στις οικογένειές τους, αλλά και να ενσωματωθεί σε σχετική εκπαιδευτική παρέμβαση γ) να αναπτυχθεί εκπαιδευτική παρέμβαση ενδυνάμωσης δεξιοτήτων αυτό-διαχείρισης ατόμων με ΔΔ η οποία ενσωματώνει η πλατφόρμα δ) να αξιολογηθεί η αποτελεσματικότητα της εκπαιδευτικής παρέμβασης προς τα άτομα με ΔΔ, ε) να αξιολογηθεί η αποτελεσματικότητα της πλατφόρμας www.mob.com.cy. Η παρούσα μελέτη έχει ονομαστεί με τα ακρώνυμα ΜοΒ (Management Of My Bipolarity) | Description: | Introduction: One of the most important parameter in the empowerment process of individuals with Bipolar Disorder (BD) is the implementation of structured educational interventions that promote cognitive state for BD, so as to empower individuals ill health self- management skills. First degree relatives are also expected to participate, since the therapeutic process of BD requires a broad approach. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to: a) explore the educational needs of individuals with BD b) explore the educational needs of first degree relatives of individuals with BD c) develop the electronic platform www.mob.com.cy, so as to provide sufficient knowledge regarding BD to both patients and their families, and also to incorporate the above to a relevant educational intervention d) develop a skills self- empowerment educational intervention for individuals with BD which integrates the electronic platform www.mob.com.cy e) evaluate the effectiveness of the educational intervention f) evaluate the effectiveness of the www.mob.com.cy digital platform, as a distinct part of the study. The present study is named after the acronym MoB (Management Of My Bipolarity). Target Population and Ethical Issues: Τhe target population consisted of all adults with Bipolar Disorder as well as first-degree family of adults with BD, whom gave written informed consent to participate to the study, the sample of this study was recruited following notification of the study to public and private Mental Health Services in Cyprus. The study has received all the necessary permits from the National Bioethics Committee of Cyprus and the Ministry of Health - Study Committee.
