Τα πρόωρα νεογνά έχουν να αντιμετωπίσουν πολλά προβλήματα και ένα από αυτό είναι το χαμηλό βάρος γέννησης. Η αύξηση του βάρους αυτών των νεογνών, αποτελεί σημαντικό κριτήριο για την έξοδο τους από τη ΜΕΝΝ με τις επιπλοκές που συνοδεύουν τη νοσηλεία τους. Σκοπός: Να εξετασθεί η αποτελεσματικότητα του θεραπευτικού μασάζ στην αύξηση βάρους των νεογνών. Υλικό και Μέθοδος: Διεξήχθη συστηματική ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας με προκαθορισμένα κριτήρια και λέξεις κλειδιά («premature infants» or «preterm infants» or «premature baby» or «preterm baby») και («massage therapy» or «massage» or «massage therapies») και («weight gain» or «weight increase» or «growth»). Οι βάσεις δεδομένων που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν ήταν οι PUBMED και Cinahl. Αποτελέσματα: Συμπεριλήφθηκαν 8 έρευνες των τελευταίων 6 χρόνων (2017-2023) με συνολικό δείγμα 633 νεογνά. Τα αποτελέσματα έδειξαν μια σημαντική αύξηση βάρους στις πλείστες μελέτες που εξετάστηκαν στις ομάδες παρέμβασης έναντι της ομάδας ελέγχου. Συμπεράσματα: Το θεραπευτικό μασάζ μπορεί να αποτελέσει μια καθημερινή παρέμβαση που είναι εύκολη και οικονομική και μπορεί να οδηγήσει στην αύξηση βάρους των νεογνών. | Description: | Aim: Μillions of newborns are born prematurely every year. Prematurity can sometimes lead to the hospitalization of the newborn due to a plethora of problems, one of them being low birth weight. Gaining weight is of upmost importance since it can lead to an earlier discharge of the newborn. In this review, the use of therapeutic massage will be analyzed in connection to weight gaining. Material and Method: A systematic search of the bibliography was performed with specific criteria and the following key words («premature infants» or «preterm infants» or «premature baby» or «preterm baby») and («massage therapy» or «massage» or «massage therapies») and («weight gain» or «weight increase» or «growth»). Τhe databases searched were PubMed and CINAHL. Results: The number of studies included is 8 and the time range is the last 6 years (2017-2023), Τhe results of most studies included, show a significant increase in the mean weight gain of the premature newborns in the intervention group rather than the control group.
