Η ασθένεια, όπως και η θεραπεία μπορούν να προκαλέσουν αρκετά συμπτώματα στις γυναίκες με καρκίνο του μαστού. Ως εκ τούτου, η μουσικοθεραπεία έχει χρησιμοποιηθεί με επιτυχία στην μείωση του άγχους, του πόνου, της κατάθλιψης και την αύξηση ποιότητας ζωής καθώς και του ύπνου. Σκοπός: Ο σκοπός της παρούσας εργασίας είναι η επίδραση της μουσικοθεραπείας και η επίδρασή της στις γυναίκες με καρκίνο του μαστού. Υλικό και Μέθοδος: Η μέθοδος που χρησιμοποιήθηκε ήταν η αναζήτηση των άρθρων που είναι δημοσιευμένα στην Αγγλική γλώσσα και διεθνή βιβλιογραφία σε βάσεις δεδομένων (EMBASE, PUBMED, CI-NAHL,) με λέξεις κλειδιά (music therapy OR music intervention OR musical therapy) AND (breast cancer) AND (treatment OR intervention OR therapy) σε όλους τους πιθανούς συνδυασμούς. Αποτελέσματα: Μέσα από την αναζήτηση της βιβλιογραφίας εντοπίστηκαν 152 άρθρα σχετικά με το καρκίνο του μαστού στις γυναίκες, από τα οποία επιλέχθηκαν τα 6 για την έρευνα. Εντούτοις διαπιστώθηκε πως η μουσικοθεραπεία επιδρά θετικά στις γυναίκες με καρκίνο του μαστού, με διάφορες μεταβλητές όπως η επίδραση στο άγχος, η μείωση του πόνου, η ποιότητα του ύπνου, η ποιότητα ζωής και η κατάθλιψη. Συμπεράσματα: Μετά από την παρούσα βιβλιογραφική ανασκόπηση διαφάνηκε πως η μουσικοθεραπεία μπορεί να βοηθήσει ενεργά τις γυναίκες με καρκίνο του μαστού στην μείωση του άγχους, κατάθλιψης αλλά και στην αύξηση ποιότητας ζωής και ποιότητας ύπνου. Αν και η μουσικοθεραπεία φάνηκε να επιφέρε πολλά οφέλη στη πορεία της νόσου των ατόμων, ωστόσο, το είδος της μουσικής δεν διαφάνηκε να διαδραματίζει καθοριστικό ρόλο στην πορεία τους. Η περαιτέρω διερεύνηση του εν λόγω θέματος αποτελεί επιτακτική ανάγκη, αλλά ταυτόχρονα και άμεση πρόκληση για τους ερευνητές, οι οποίοι καλούνται να ανταποκριθούν στην κάλυψη των αναγκών των ασθενών με καρκίνο του μαστού. | Description: | Aim: Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women. The disease itself, as well as the treatment can cause several symptoms in women with breast cancer. Musicotherapy though has been defined as the most successful way to face breast cancer as it reduces anxiety, pain, depression and increase quality of life equally and sleep. Objective: This project aims to show the effect of music therapy and how it helps women diagnosed with breast cancer. Material and Method: The methodology used includes the following: Research for articles published in English language and national bibliography in databases (EMBASE, PUBMED, CI-NAHL) with the following keywords (music therapy OR music intervention OR musical therapy) AND (breast cancer) AND (treatment OR intervention OR therapy) in all possible combinations. Results: According to the bibliography research that has been conducted, almost 122 articles appeared to be related to this topic, however only the 6 of them defined as the perfect match to achieve this project’s goal, hence the project focuses on these 6. The research of the literature established that musicotherapy has a positive effect on women with breast cancer, with various variables such as impact on stress, reduction of pain, quality of sleep, quality of life and depression. Conclusions: Based on the present literature review, it became clear that music therapy can actively assist women with breast cancer in reducing anxiety, and depression, as well as in increasing quality of life and sleep quality. Although music therapy seemed to bring many benefits to the course of the disease for individuals, however, the type of music did not appear to play a decisive role in their course.
