| dc.description | My work is about a critical view on contemporary art that has lost its social role and purpose. Art is a social encounter. It resembles a public space in which people meet, socialize, politicize and share. Today, however, art has lost this role. Art today, is either about an endeavor to impress for financial gain, or it is about an elitist intellectual mentality which creates gaps between 'experts' and 'unskilled' in art. These motives are competitive and thus not related to any social role in art. This paper presents the theoretical background of my artworks. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Η δουλειά μου αφορά σε μια κριτική της σύγχρονης τέχνης η οποία έχει απωλέσει τον κοινωνικό της ρόλο και σκοπό. Η τέχνη, είναι μια κοινωνική συνάντηση. Μοιάζει με ένα δημόσιο χώρο στον οποίο συναντώνται οι άνθρωποι, κοινωνικοποιούνται πολιτικοποιούνται και μοιράζονται. Σήμερα η τέχνη, ωστόσο, έχει χάσει αυτό τον ρόλο. Η τέχνη σήμερα, αφορά είτε σε μια προσπάθεια εντυπωσιασμού με σκοπό το οικονομικό κέρδος, είτε αφορά σε μια ελιτίστικη διανοουμενίστικη νοοτροπία η οποία δημιουργεί χάσματα μεταξύ «ειδικών» και «ανειδίκευτων» στην τέχνη. Αυτά τα κίνητρα είναι ανταγωνιστικά και ως εκ τούτου δεν αντίθετα με τον όποιο κοινωνικό ρόλο στην τέχνη. Η εργασία αυτή παρουσιάζει το θεωρητικό υπόβαθρο των καλλιτεχνικών μου έργων. | en_US |
