Αρχικά δίνονται γενικά στοιχεία για τη βιολογική παραγωγή στην Ευρώπη και ειδικά για την παραγωγή στην Κύπρο, όπως αυτή αναπτύχθηκε τα τελευταία χρόνια. Στη συνέχεια η μελέτη επικεντρώνεται στην αναλυτική περιγραφή μιας βιολογικής μονάδας παραγωγής αγελαδινού γάλακτος στην περιοχή της Ορούντας στην επαρχία Λευκωσίας. Στην πτυχιακή περιγράφεται η διαχείριση των ζώων διαφορετικών ηλικιών δίνοντας επίσης στοιχεία για την διατροφή, την άμελξη, τη διαχείριση ασθενειών, την αναπαραγωγή και τις εγκαταστάσεις που χρησιμοποιεί η συγκεκριμένη μονάδα. Στην περιγραφή αυτή αναδεικνύονται οι διαφορές στην εκτροφή σε σύγκριση με το συμβατικό σύστημα παραγωγής αγελαδινού γάλακτος. Στα συμπεράσματα της μελέτης αναφέρονται τα προβλήματα που αντιμετωπίζει η συγκεκριμένη μονάδα και μπορούν να εξαχθούν συμπεράσματα για τη βιολογική παραγωγή γάλακτος στο νησί. | Description: | In this dissertation we will describe the organic production of cow’s milk in Cyprus. Initially, general data are given on organic production in Europe and especially on production in Cyprus, as it has developed in recent years. Then the study focuses on the detailed description of an organic farm producing cow milk in Orounda, in the province of Nicosia. The management of cows at different stages of production is described, giving also information on the nutrition, milking procedures, disease management, reproduction and facilities used by the farm. The description highlights the differences in organic milk production compared to the conventional system.
