Αυτό έχει ως αντίκτυπο στην ποιότητα ζωής του ατόμου, αλλά και την ανάπτυξη επικίνδυνων συμπεριφορών. Σκοπός: Είναι η διερεύνηση της ανάπτυξης συμπτωμάτων κατάθλιψης στην εφηβεία και ενήλικη ζωή σε σχέση με την κακοποίηση και παραμέληση στην παιδική ηλικία. Υλικό και μέθοδος: Η αναζήτηση της σχετικής βιβλιογραφίας έχει γίνει στις βάσεις δεδομένων: PubMed, Cinahl και ProQuest, με την χρήση και συνδυασμό λέξεων: «depression or depressive disorder or depressive symptoms», «neglect or abuse or mistreat or maltreat», «young adults or adolescent or teenagers» και «family or families or parents or siblings». Η αναζήτηση έγινε στην Αγγλική γλώσσα, στην Ευρωπαϊκή και Διεθνή βιβλιογραφία και η χρονολογική περίοδος που έχει επιλεχτεί είναι από το 2015 έως το 2020. Επίσης έχει γίνει χρήση του PECO για τον καθορισμό ερευνητικού ερωτήματος. Αποτελέσματα: Από την αναζήτηση προέκυψαν 428 άρθρα, τα οποία μελετήθηκαν σε δύο στάδια: τον τίτλο και την περίληψη. Με βάση αυτή την ανασκόπηση αποκλείστηκαν 411 άρθρα και επιλέγηκαν 17 άρθρα των οποίων έγινε μελέτη του πλήρες κειμένου τους. Τα άρθρα τα οποία επιλέγηκαν ήταν 8, κατά την περίοδο 2015-2020 και πληρούσαν τα προδιαγεγραμμένα κριτήρια. Οι μελέτες των οποίων έγινε επιλογή ήταν προοπτικές ή συγχρονικές ή ποσοτικές. Σε ορισμένες από αυτές έγινε χρήση ερωτηματολογίων για τη συλλογή των δεδομένων. Συμπεράσματα: Η κακοποίηση και η παραμέληση από το οικογενειακό περιβάλλον, και όχι μόνο, φάνηκε να σχετίζεται με την ανάπτυξη συμπτωμάτων κατάθλιψης στην εφηβεία και ενηλικίωση. Αυτό οδηγεί σε σωρεία προβλημάτων για το άτομο και την κοινότητα της οποίας αποτελεί μέρος. | Description: | Introduction: According to recent epidemiological data, the abuse and neglecting of children from their family environment has increased during the past years, resulting in the occurrence of mood disorders and depressive symptoms when adolescents. This has an impact on a person’s quality of life while making possible the development of dangerous behaviors. Aim: Is to examine the development of depressive symptoms in adolescence and adulthood in relation to child abuse and neglect. Material and Method: The relevant literature has been searched in the databases of PubMed, Cinahl and ProQuest, with the use and combination of the words «depression or depressive disorder or depressive symptoms», «neglect or abuse or mistreat or maltreat», «young adults or adolescent or teenagers» and «family or families or parents or siblings». The present research was conducted in English, in the European and International literature while the chosen chronological period is from 2015 to 2020. PECO has, also, been utilized for the determination of the research question. Results: The research yielded 428 articles, which were studied in two stages: according to the title and summary. Based on this review 411 articles were excluded, and 17 articles were selected, the full text of which was studied. The articles selected were 8, during the aforementioned time period of 2015-2020 and met the prescribed criteria. The studies selected were either prospective or contemporary or quantitative. Some of the studies used questionnaires for the collection of data. Conclusions: Abuse or neglect not only by the family environment, but in general, appeared to be associated with the development of depressive symptoms in adolescence and adulthood.
