Πιο συγκεκριμένα, σκοπός της εργασίας είναι να καταδειχθεί η ύπαρξη και άλλων, εναλλακτικών εκφράσεων της νεωτερικότητας που αναδύθηκαν στη Μεσόγειο, ανεξάρτητα από τις παραμέτρους και τα όσα ορίζονται ως μοντερνικότητα από τη Δυτική Ευρώπη. Μέσα από το έργο των τριών αυτών λογοτεχνών, προβάλλεται η Μεσόγειος ως ο χώρος του συνονθυλεύματος διαφόρων πολιτισμών, των ρευστών συνόρων, της ανταλλαγής πολιτιστικών στοιχείων, της υβριδικότητας, αλλά και των σύνθετων ταυτοτήτων, αμφισβητώντας έτσι και δυισμούς, όπως Ανατολή/Δύση και Ισλάμ/Χριστιανισμός. | Description: | This dissertation examines facets of literary modernism in the Mediterranean region, through the writings of Konstantinos Cavafis, Federico García Lorca and Orhan Pamuk. In particular, the aim of this study is to show the existence of other, alternative expressions of Modernity, that emerged in the Mediterranean and developed independently from the “canonical” elements that define modernism by/in Western Europe.
