| dc.description | Introduction Children’s exposure to environmental tobacco smoke has been associated with harmful outcomes for their health. In view of the health benefits of parent’s smoke control in the community led to the appliance of interventions for the best of its control. Aim The aim of this study of the literature was to identify the effectiveness of smoking control programs at the children’s exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. Material and method The method used in this case was the search of relative international bibliography in the databases of PubMed and Cochrane for the last fifteen years, using the terms : "Household Smoking" or " Tobacco Smoke" or "environmental tobacco smoke" or "Homes Smoke-free" or "third-hand smoke" AND "child" or "kid" or "children". Results The search has ended up to nine articles of the years 2001-2018, which fulfilled the predetermined criteria. Within the search of bibliography, six trials estimated to statistically significant correlation of the smoking control programs with the decrease of children’s exposure to environmental smoke. Children’s age and family’s economic situation seems to be related to the interventions effectiveness. Conclusions Of all the existing data it is clear that interventions appear to reduce children's exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Εισαγωγή Η έκθεση των παιδιών στον περιβαλλοντικό καπνό έχει συσχετιστεί με αρνητικές επιπτώσεις στην υγεία τους. Οι θετικές συνέπειες που φαίνεται να έχει ο έλεγχος του γονικού καπνίσματος στην κοινότητα, οδήγησαν στην εφαρμογή παρεμβάσεων για τον καλύτερο έλεγχο του. Σκοπός Σκοπός της παρούσας μελέτης ήταν η συστηματική ανασκόπηση της αποτελεσματικότητας των προγραμμάτων ελέγχου καπνίσματος στην έκθεση των παιδιών στον περιβαλλοντικό καπνό. Υλικό και μέθοδος Η μέθοδος που χρησιμοποιήθηκε ήταν η αναζήτηση της σχετικής διεθνούς βιβλιογραφίας στις βάσεις δεδομένων Pubmed και Cochrane για την τελευταία δεκαπενταετία, χρησιμοποιώντας τις λέξεις κλειδιά: "Household Smoking" or " Tobacco Smoke" or "environmental tobacco smoke" or "Homes Smoke-free" or "third-hand smoke" AND "child" or "kid" or "children". Αποτελέσματα Η αναζήτηση κατάληξε σε εννέα μελέτες των ετών 2004-2018, οι οποίες πληρούσαν τα καθορισμένα κριτήρια. Μέσα από την ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας έξι μελέτες οδήγησαν σε στατιστικά σημαντική συσχέτιση της χρήσης προγραμμάτων ελέγχου καπνίσματος με τη μείωση της έκθεσης των παιδιών στον περιβαλλοντικό καπνό. Η ηλικία των παιδιών και η οικονομική κατάσταση φαίνεται να συσχετίζεται με την αποτελεσματικότητα των παρεμβάσεων. Συμπεράσματα Από το σύνολο των υπάρχοντών δεδομένων προκύπτει ότι οι παρεμβάσεις φαίνεται να μειώνουν την έκθεση των παιδιών στον περιβαλλοντικό καπνό. | en_US |
